The Public Works Department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the village's roads. Its duties include the following:

Curb Reconstruction
Curb Repair
Pothole Repair
Street Sweeping
Snow and Ice Removal
Ground Maintenance Operations
Sign Installation and Replacement

Street Operation and Maintenance is partially funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation's Motor Fuel Tax Program. Tax funds are derived from a tax on the privilege of operating motor vehicles upon public highways and recreational watercraft on the waters of Illinois. Funds are collected based on the consumption of motor fuel.
